Weve started getting a bunch of How-to questions for our Landing Page Builder. So I am starting off on 0ur How-to series to helpanswer questions quickly.
If you have embedded a video on your landing page and want the video to autoplay once the page has loaded then here is how you can do it. First, the explanation for youtube videos and then forvimeo.
Scenario 1: Add autoplay to youtube video through URL
Step 1: Add a video element to your landing page.
As you do normally, click on the video element on the left toadd/ embed a new video.
Step 2: Copy the Video URL
When you copy the URL it would look something like this:
//youtu.be/i8mSl03t-Gk
Step 3: Add the Autoplay parameter to the URL
After the URLadd the following text ?autoplay=1
It should now look like this [changes highlighted in blue]
//youtu.be/i8mSl03t-Gk?autoplay=1
Step 4: Enter the modified URL intothe Enter URL field in the landing page builder
Just click on Add Video and youre done! Youve got an autoplay video on your landing page!
In case you need to do this through an embed code then follow the steps below:
Scenario 2: Add autoplay to youtube video throughEmbed Code
Step 1: Add a video element to your landing page.
Same as above,click on the video element on the left toadd/ embed a new video.
Step 2: Open a new browser tab and go to your youtube video. Copy the Embed Code from Youtube.
You will find this under your video after you click Share. Heres an example from Sunnys responsive landing page builder video.The code is highlighted in blue.Click on the code and copy.
Step 3: Now paste the video embed code into a notepad file or a word document.
It will look something like this:
Step 4: You need to make one small adjustment to the code to enable the autoplay.
After the question mark, add the text autoplay=1;
It will now look like this [changes highlighted in blue].
Step 5: Copy this new code and paste into the Enter URL field in the builder:
and thats it you should have your landing pagevideo auto play upon loading.
Now in case you have a vimeovideo
Scenario 3: Autoplay landing page video for vimeo URL or embed code
When you go to your vimeo page,click on the paper airplane icon for share. You will get a pop up which will look like this:
You can copy theLinkhighlighted in blue.Copy this link into a notepad or word doc file. It will look something like this:
//vimeo.com/120759469
Similar to the youtube scenario you just need to add ?autoplay=1 at the end of the URL. It would look like this [change highlighted in blue]
//vimeo.com/120759469?autoplay=1
and thats it!Hit Add Video and youre done! The video on your landing page is ready for auto-play
Finally, in case you want to publish an auto play vimeo video throughthe embed code then you just need to add the autoplay parameter.
You would enter your changes inthe embed code that looks like this:

Before I go, I want to make a mention that most of us find autoplay videos pretty annoying. Especially when it plays when you least expect it [like at work!]. However, sometimes marketers want that extra punch and go hard on their campaigns.Video auto play is one such technique that helps.Another idea is to provide some freebie or incentive for the user to watch the video.
