Good day everyone, I am having this issue with my laptop [ HP ProBook], I can't remember/ see the model number anymore.
When I plugged in the charger, there is a white blinking light coming from the charging port. - I did replace the battery but there's still can't fix the problem.
- I did replace the charger with another charger but still can't solve.
any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this problem??
if you still have the physical manual [ you find one online too], there should be troubleshooting section or if still under warranty contact HP.
Try this: 1. Power off laptop 2. Unplug AC adapter and Disconnect battery [if it has a removable battery] 3. Hold power button for 15 seconds 4. Re-plug Battery and AC adapter 5. Power up PC Hopefully, your light should be amber.

tried these steps but still can't fix this issue. with the blinking light from the powerport, my laptop cannot even power-on.

Battery Is in Shipping Mode
When you use a Chromebook laptop for the first time, you should see a white LED near the power connector blinking continuously. Rest assured, this is intended behavior. Your machine is still in Shipping Mode.
Shut down your laptop, keep the power cable connected and wait for 40 minutes. The idea is to charge your battery enough to exit Shipping Mode. Restart your laptop and check if the white LED is still flashing.
Your Battery Is Down to 1 Percent
If your battery is dangerously low and doesn’t have enough charge to start the computer, the LED battery will flash white. This usually happens when the battery is in a deep discharge state. Deep discharges usually occur when the battery is left unused for months on end.
Plug the power cable into the connector and wait for 30 minutes for the battery to charge. Then unplug the cable and turn on your computer. Check if the battery light is still flashing. Feel free to re-connect the power cable to charge the battery.
Remove the Battery
If the issue persists, shut your Chromebook down and charge it for one hour. Then disconnect the power cable, and remove the battery. Wait for 30 seconds, re-insert the battery and turn on your laptop. Check the results.
If the battery LED is still flashing white, this may indicate your battery is faulty. You may need to replace it. But first, check your battery health stats just to be sure.
- Press the Ctrl, Alt, and T keys to open Crosh.
- Then type battery_test 1 and hit Enter.
- Check the results to confirm your battery is actually charging.
- Check the health stats as well. If the battery health goes under 80 percent, get a new one.

my laptop won't charge and whenever plugged In doesn't have the charging indicator light. whenever I try to turn it on it flashes a led light. I bought a new battery and tried that, nothing. tried a different charger cord and out let and nothing. its an hp pavilion notebook and I got it around 3 years ago.
I really need a fix because I need it for school next week and I can't afford a new one or $200 to take it to best buy geek squad to fix

Carefully poke a pencil into the power socket and use that to measure whether the charger tip is actually making it all the way to the motherboard's power port. It's also worth tying an elastic band round the charger lead and stretching the band around the laptop body. That holds the lead in place instead of it slipping off as soon as you take your eye off it.
