Lỗi unable to create game for tcp ip games năm 2024

I can't get the multiplayer features to work. I've seen the post regarding "Game Ranger" but that's not my issue.

If I click on any of the multiplayer options within Armada itself, I receive the following error "Connect Connect to LAN via..." whether it be TCP/IP or IPX, neither feature works and it won't progress to the next window as it should.

The internet option doesn't work either, just says "Cannot connect to WON server", but I figure that's normal.

Also, when I first run the game and try either the TCP/IP option or IPX, the game minimizes and askes me to install "Directplay" first. Whether I answer yes or not to that option, it makes no difference and my multiplayer options remain the same.

Any idea how I can get past this? Even with Game Ranger installed and configured, the errors still pop up and I can't start a lobby.

Whitelist Armada.exe in your firewall/antivirus.

My antivirus is disabled and I've allowed it through Windows Defender firewall, it makes no difference.

Okay, I ended up fixing it...but I'm not 100% sure what I did.

So the key was "directplay" - every time I tried selecting the "TCP/IP" or even "IPX" it would prompt to install Directplay. Regardless if I said yes or no [to the installation] the end result was the same - I got that error.

So I quit the game and then went into my Windows Control Panel [Windows 10], went to "Programs and Features", went to "Turn Windows Features on or Off" [on the left side of the window], scrolled down to "legacy components", unchecked and rechecked the boxes for both "Legacy Components" and "Directplay".

Windows went through a process of installation [I think], it prompted me to reboot, and I did.

At first this did nothing, meaning the errors in Armada were still there. But then I realized I didn't reboot AND apply updates, I just did a regular reboot. So I rebooted again but applied the updates too and when the system booted back up, the multiplayer features now work...
