Born in Brazil to a Brazilian mother and Japanese father, Barbara moved to Japan at five. She is no stranger to the world of modelling, having spent more than a decade parading her natural good looks along catwalks and in photoshoots.

Recently, she moved to Taiwan to pursue modelling opportunities and has enjoyed great success in the region. Her sunny disposition and professionalism will win the hearts of the judges. And her amazing skills and wealth of experience will intimidate her competitors.

Really enjoying this cycle - i've accepted the show has moved on from being solely a modelling competition, in some ways I prefer it now its all a bit of a joke, the judges know it, the contestants know it so everyones happy!

I've been pleased with the last two eliminations, and i'm glad Tyra is eliminating the worst of the bunch, as opposed to trying to eliminate based on nationality to keep numbers even like in the start.

Its difficult to predict whose going to win at this point, like a lot of people, I would be suprised if a Brit didn't win, as I get the impression that was the whole point of the show, especially as in my opinion 5/7 of the American girls were all distinctly average, and I feel that was quite deliberate. Sophie stands out at the moment as being the strongest, although Tyra obviously likes Alisha, and I reckon if Alisha gets some more good shots in the next few weeks she is in with a real shot. Alternatively, I could see either Laura/Eboni eliminated soon, leaving one of them continuing right up until the end, with Tyra letting that girl win and claiming the American beat the British Invastion blah blahh. I'm rooting for the Brits.

Catherine & Annaleise are on borrowed time in my opinion, one bad shoot and I think they are off.

Also, does anyone else really not get Eboni? She just seems so average and when they make her wear bunches its even worse!

Watching some episode recaps. Annaleise's this week is so funny, especially when she was describing the Hello Kitty photoshoot and the dresses... "Bandaid Kitty"

Didn't realise Catherine was also doing them these past few weeks and she is so... lively... Its such a new side of Catherine we never get to see! She's coming across a bit bitter about the whole experience - which I'm sure most are

Also very very interesting points raised in both blogs about the production side of things at the runway show. Nothing really new as I'm sure plenty of past contestants have bring these points up before. But to summarise - the girls didn't actually open the shows - AzMarie actually opened one - and general mis-squence and editing. I suggest yous should watch both blogs this week as they are very nice... 0

Catherine's great. She really hates Kelly.:D

One thing she mentioned was that Tyra doesn't get to pick best photo anymore and doesn't even see all the photos from the shoot except the one that gets put forward. I'm surprised that they are allowed to do these blogs actually, don't imagine Tyra will like this stuff coming up! 0

Quite liked that episode. The series has been getting better alot lately.

The call out order, I thought was pretty close to mine. But Alishas photo was my favourite, so having her first, and then the rest how it was for me. Im on the fence with Catherine going. She was one of my favourites, but when they did the photos at the end, there was only 2 or 3 I actually liked, and found the rest mediocre. I also loved some of Annaleise comments this episode, the "We're going to Asia" and "Has anyone established the view". Her voice had my laughing so hard. Lolol 0

I liked this episode as well. I agree than the series has probably gotten better as it went along.

Part of me felt like "Alisha will you shut up!":o She has become quite catty. I was quite sad to see Catherine go, yet it was definitely her time. When they went through her portfolio I really noticed how great her face was. I wish Kelly would get off her damn high horse over Annaliese. The girl has came on leaps and bounds and I'm happy she got called 2nd. Yes she may not be the best at high fashion, but I still think she's a great model even if it's just commercial. I laughed at her running with her suitcase

It was sad for Catherine to go, you could see it coming though and to be fair it did feel like her time had come. From her blog it does seem like she thinks she was stitched-up in the photos that got put forward to panel, and by the process in general. It's also clear that her personality has been watered down a bit from what we've seen on the show. I agree that Annaleise looks like the next one to go, its been foreshadowed this week with the comments about her being too commercial / TV host-ish. Poor quality of photo-shoot this week though, it seems there the only decent photo of the bunch really was Laura. Has Eboni actually had any decent photos yet? It feels like every cycle we are inflicted upon with a girl that is dragged all the way through the show for no other reason but that Tyra sees something in them. 0

Honestly, the only times I can think of when Eboni having a good shot was the Maple syrup and the Estelle photoshoot that's it. Having being said that, I dunno if it was here I heard it or not, but apparently this cycle not even Tyra chooses the call-out order, it's actually the producers. I have no idea how Annaliese could be eliminated next looking at her photo. She's giving high fashion and looks great. My call-out would be: FCO- Laura 2nd - Annaliese 3rd - Alisha 4th - Sophie| 5th - Eboni In saying that, a "spoiler" said that Sophie lands in the bottom 2 next week, however they also mentioned that she takes out her biggest competition in the Brits team... but Annaliese isn't her biggest competition Alisha would. Ahh I dunno I really can't call it, because whenever I see a great pic, the judges end up hating it. I've just watched the first 7 episodes in the last 7 days! (I'm a Top Model junkie ) so I'm now all caught up, apart from episode 8 which I haven't seen yet.

One of the things that's been really bugging me since the beginning is the attitude of Kelly Cutrone towards Annalise. When she's constantly banging on about how she's a 'presenter not a model' I wish someone would point out the prize package which includes a presenting job and bizarrely, a music video! This series, as with the god-awful All Star series, is geared towards finding a TV personality as much as it is a model. The likes of 'Rainbow booty tooching' does not belong in the same sentence as 'high fashion' no matter how much Kelly tries to convince us that this is a serious modelling competition. Australia's Next Top Model is miles ahead in that department! Another thing that's bugging me. Tyra's obsession with 'booty tooching' and the lame-ass intoxabella nicknames. I don't like Eboni but I can TOTALLY see why she hates having to wear those hideous pigtail things! Kelly said that it's almost as if she wasn't wearing them to 'spite' the judges. Nothing to do with the fact that they are super ugly and '30-never' is by far the stupidest 'brand' to be stuck with then?...:rolleyes:. I've always found Alisha to be overrated. 0

Well I got bored when they started to do the starsigns bit so skipped to the callout sequence...

From the photos, Catherine just has to be sabotaged! That can't be the best photo she got! I'm losing interest in the show. I can see another 2 Brits will likely be the ones gone in the following weeks. Also from a side note. I've stayed in the MGM Macau, and it totally is amazing!

Everything screamed luxury - there was a proper shopping mall tacked on at the end of it with all the big brands! 0

It gets a bit annoying when the show wants to pass off some of these pictures as the girls best shots, when you could pick a better shot from the previews of the episode.

Catherine has been overall better than Alisha, but Alisha knows how to make her strong performances stand out better. Even though I find Laura a little abrasive now, I still love her modelling. So she would be a very worthy winner. I think my ideal final 3 would be Laura/Sophie/Annaliese. I loved Annaliese's shot. I actually saw her as a possible contender for the first time, but I think my mind has been too tainted by the constant negative critiques about her, especially from Kelly. Tyra was the one speaking sense at judging, she mentioned Eboni's lack of neck, and has seemed like a fan of Catherine for a while 0

I've always found BNTM quite amateur (photoshoot and location wise) to ANTM. And I still stand by that. I don't know why. The girls photoshoots in BNTM always looks so cheap and I find that every british girl has done so much better on this show than in their first top model appearances Me too. Even after the supposed shake up of BNTM and the appointment of Elle Macphearson, I still found it very amateur with tacky looking photos. That's why I was dreading this cycle because I assumed the brits would end up just getting embarassed and showing how bad they are in comparision to the American's....:o. However, they have surpassed my expectations so far. Sophie is getting some great shots and all the designers at castings seem to love her. However I don't expect her to win. I only wish Catherine was performing better because I think she is the most unique looking of all the girls and sometimes I wonder if they are purposely picking unflattering photos of her because she is obviously not in favour with the judges. I would liked to have seen Joy in this cycle - one of our strongest BNTM contestants. 0

I'd be really interested to know how many other previous BNTM contestants were approached to appear in this series and perhaps turned it down, or weren't chosen.

I am really suprised that Charlotte (Cycle 6) wasn't picked for the show, I can imagine Tyra being all over her, probably comparing her to Kate Middleton and for being uber british etc. She would have stood an excellent shot at winning this I imagine. Jade (Cycle 5) also would have been another good choice. Although I think I saw she has done a fair amount of recent modelling, so perhaps wasn't in need of a career boost! As much as I love her now, I wasn't a huge fan of Annaliese first time round and she didn't actually make it that far in the competition, which makes me think she might not have been a top choice for this show, and perhaps took the place of another girl? 0

Catherine said in her blog that all the girls that were cast for the show got through. lol

• Firstly ANTM has always been superior to BNTM. However, under Elle`s leadership the show has improved in terms of quality and level of talent.

  Bit I agree, despite the negativity surrounding the UK girls on the Brit Invasion format, they have showcased better. But there is now way a UK girl will win. It would undermine the premise of the show and indeed its ego. I have to say Laura has been consistently strong. Sophie and Alisha are the standouts from the UK. Eboni has nine lives as her photos are poor and she should have gone. Catherine`s chosen pic was terrible but did not reflect the best from her shoot. I have a feeling Eboni will win, Laura second and Sophie or Alisha thrid. Strangely Annaleise is peaking right now but she isnt registering with Kelly C or Tyra.
