Ever since I was a teenager I’ve only used GHD tools on my hair; I truly think they are the best at what they do

Disappointing

My hair was too short to really get the benefit from this… though I bought it hoping to curb the dreaded flick out from my long bob. It didn’t work. Gave it to my daughter who has ling hair but not sure she has much use for it either TBH

Life-changing

I purchased this expecting a way of tidying up my wavy-frizzy hair, I didn’t count on being able to straighten a full head of thick hair in about 15 minutes! I’ve been so impressed with the glide, it’s honestly made a noticeable difference to my life. I’ve recommended it to several people already.

Exactly what I wanted!

I bought this knowing that it wasn't something I would use for straightening my hair (textured) straight after washing, moreso for in-between touch-ups, for which it is perfect. The only thing I would advise is that this probably is better suited to those with thicker and/or mid-length to long hair, I doubt it would be of benefit to anyone with fine hair. Also I have found it works best if you can create tension when brushing through your hair, so using an additional brush or comb.

It's okay, takes time and gives off burn smell

Knocked off a star as takes a long time to straighten my hair. Then again I don't use blow dryer or flat iron or any other source of heat on my hair whatsoever. I think this device is more for hair that's been flat ironed on day 1 then day 2 use this? Takes many attempts for me to achieve a somewhat frizz-free look. That's on top of the burn small that happens when heating up, when using, and when cooling down. My air purifier device goes from 0.02 to up to 50+! Regardless this brush must be healthier than using a flat iron daily! I don't use the brush daily so I guess if you use it daily you'll achieve that advert glossy hair look ;)

Utterly Dissapointed

For context, I have afro-textured hair and wanted to dry this as straighteners have damaged my hair in the past. I used this post-braid-take down and yes, it did detangle amazingly well, and melt any excess build-up. However, my hair is far from sleek and straight and is actually a mess. Happy it detangled, disappointed I couldn't wear my hair straight

Loving it !

A friend recommended this, my hair is often colored and also I’ve gotten them bleached, and then of course damage control was done by hair protein so I don’t need a harsh blow dry hair dries naturally, and then halfway through I brush with this it has no noise and it’s lovely and long chorded and very convenient to use.

Designed to make it look as if you were born with sleek AF hair, the brush works on many different hair types: From straight, to wavy, kinky, afro and more coarse curl textures.

So, what is the GHD Glide Hot Brush?

A straightening tool in the form of a hair brush, the brush heats up to 185ºC and is complete with both short and long bristles.

The idea is that the tool can quickly smooth down and re-zhuzh second day hair, giving you some extra glam and minutes in bed. Winning.

WH digital editor Amy Lane tried the brush out on her post-workout hair and found that while it was heavier to handle than a normal brush, it's 'excellent to fight against second-day frizz.' Consider us sold, Ames.

Amy's top tip: 'Do brush your hair before using the brush, because while it does have bristles, these aren’t the type that can be dragged through knotty hair – you'll find yourself in a tangle fairly quickly.'

And whilst it wasn't a magic bullet to cure all of Amy's hair woes, she was mega impressed with the fact that when she did a 'curved motion to create a soft inward bounce at the front, it worked!'

Can the ghd straightening brush replace your normal straighteners?

Long story short: No. Because it's not a straightener. The action of clamping two equally hot plates to your hair and straightening down is very different to brushing through strands with a heated brush. Plus, you can't create the big curls or mermaid waves with this brush that you would with a straightener.

That said, if you want to tidy up some bedhead, get out jarring kinks causes by hair ties or refresh a day-old blow dry, this absolutely is the tool for you.

Is the ghd hot brush worth it?

The results it amazing. This is my favourite hair straightener and it will be the only one I will use for rest of my life. I can't believe with the result and how quickly I achieve the result. Great!

Is ghd Glide better than a straightener?

The Glide is designed for taming and neatening an unruly mane, not beating it into submission. If you want to remove volume, stick to a regular straightener. It takes some practice to get the best use out of the Glide.

Can you use ghd Glide brush on wet hair?

ghd Glide: What, who, and the benefits One of the best options on the market for tackling frizz, the ghd Glide can be used on wet and dry hair and essentially presents a hybrid of a high quality brush and a hair straightener – giving users the sleek and shiny finish they would expect from a full styling treatment.

Is the ghd Glide good for frizzy hair?

The ions within the brush eliminate frizz so hair is transformed in just a few quick strokes. The combination of high density short and longer bristles allow for large sections of hair to be styled and leaves salon smooth natural movement.
