What is it?: A Hyaluronic Acid Lotion/Toner/Serum/Essence [however you want to use it] containing an updated formula of 4 Hyaluronic Acid Forms instead of 3 [and less ”fluff” ingredients].
What does it do?: Hyaluronic Acid is meant to plump up the skin and reduce the look of fine lines [temporarily].

What is it?: A lightweight Hyaluronic Acid Toner / Lotion containing an extra Hyaluronic Acid form [fermented HA] to improve hydration for the skin.
Brand Description: This slightly acidic and moisture-replenishing toner / lotion has a simple formula. The fermented Hyaluronic Acid is supposedly anti-inflammatory and meant to reinforce the skin’s barrier.
Supposedly Good for: All Skin Types
What I think: I agree except for very dry skins – I think dry skins would prefer the Premium Lotion or the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner plus i.e. a thicker texture and more HA molecules]. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who has sensitivities towards hydrolysed hyaluronic acid OR people with damaged skin barriers/sensitised skins i.e. people using high strength retinol [as this may aggravate further].

Directions: ”After cleansing, gently pat an appropriate amount on face daily.”
How I use it: I have used this in different ways; As a Toner, I cleanse and then apply this to a cotton pad and then swipe the face to both hydrate and remove any excess dirt. As a Serum/Lotion, I apply this straight after toning – just dab onto the face. I also have used this on the ends of my hair to hydrate. But I always apply a cream on top to prevent TEWL.

- The Premium Lotion has 7 Hyaluronic Acid Molecules. Urea is also added [which is moisturising], [Sugars are also added in here as they are great humectants]. It’s a thicker formula.
Compared to the Updated LIGHT Version: Water, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Lactococcus ferment / Hyaluronic acid Ferment Filtrate, Dipropylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Disodium succinate, Succinic Acid, Phenoxyethanol.
- The light version also has 4 Molecules of HA, so the surrounding ingredients make the texture/formulation lighter in texture [although this product is already very light so this must be paper thin!].
Texture: This has a light, watery texture. It’s not sticky or tacky – such a difference from the previous version for me. I actually enjoyed applying this and it almost felt as light as an essence. Definitely lighter than the Premium Version AND lighter than the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner Plus.
This spreads easily and absorbs fast. I can also apply more than 1 layer.
As you can see, the formula of this is very lightweight!

Fragrance?: Smells a bit like plastic [i.e. smells like the bottle].
Good Under Makeup?: Yes!
How long have I been using this?: I’ve almost completed this bottle [I applied this on the hair too]. So it has lasted me about 2 months.
The Effect?: This definitely is hydrating. It hasn’t irritated my skin and I don’t apply it when my skin is sensitised, so it’s been fine to use. It’s also helped hydrate the ends of my hair. I find that this is great to prep the skin before applying my serums and/or moisturiser. It leaves a smooth base on the skin and isn’t sticky or tacky. This doesn’t have emollients and ceramides so this isn’t exactly moisturising, but it is hydrating. Leaves my skin feeling ‘watered’.
And this does help with fine lines i.e. dehydrated skin usually has fine lines, so added some hydrating ingredients can help plump up the skin [i.e. saturate it with water]. This is usually a short-term effect so consistent use of hydrating products/humectants is needed.

- Wish it had more HA molecules [The reason why I say this is that the Niod MMHC has even more HA molecules and is probably even thinner than this product. Review HERE
Overall Rating and Conclusion: 3.9/5 – A much better texture than the previous Hada Labo Lotion. A lot more easy to layer and less sticky too. I’m happy this has 4 HA forms instead of 3 as well. The reason why I couldn’t give this top marks is because if it had even more HA molecules [like the Niod MMHC], that would have been great. I would put this in my top 5 HA products [I’ll make a Blog post discussing them soon]. I’ve enjoyed this on the ends of my hair.
Would I purchase?: I actually really enjoyed using this on the hair the most, so I would repurchase it for that use. It’s because it’s not too sticky or lightweight [I did try the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner Plus and found that too sticky for the hair]. But this was good to use! HOWEVER for the face, if I couldn’t get the Niod MMHC [slightly lighter texture and more HA molecules] then yes I would get this.
Dupe?: In terms of the texture, the Niod MMHC is either the same or even thinner than this [Review HERE] And it has15 forms of HA.
In terms of texture and similar number of HA forms, the Isntree Hyaluronic acid Toner [HERE], would be [same amount of HA forms in this product].

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
