SSC CGL 2023

The Staff Selection Commission has released the Notification for the SSC CGL 2023 on 03rd April 2023. The Commission is going to conduct exam for different positions in groups B and C. Approximately 10,000 vacancies will be filled in the ministries and other divisions of the Indian government. The exam will be taken in CBT [computer based testing] mode. Read the application process to know the details. The candidates who are planning to appear for the exam can submit the online applications between 03rd April 2023 to 03rd May 2023. The last date for making online fee payment and generation of offline challan is 04th May 2023. The last date for payment through Challan is 05th May 2023. By paying the application of INR 100, candidates can apply for the exam. For making any changes in the application form, correction window will be open from 07th May 2023 to 08th May 2023.  

As, per the SSC Calendar the SSC CGL 2023 Tier 1 exam will be conducted in July 2023. The exams will be  conducted in two shifts. The first shift was from 9. 00 a. m. and the second shift was from 2. 00 p. m. for the candidates appearing in the exam.  The SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2023 was held in 3 phases namely, Paper-1 [Compulsory for all posts], Paper-2 [Junior Statistical Officer JSO], and Paper-3 [Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer]

SSC CGL 2023 is a national-level competitive exam to recruit graduates for various Group 'B' and 'C' posts in the Central Government departments. Through this exam, the Staff Selection Commission fills Grade “B” and “C” category posts like Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Sub-Inspector, etc in various Government Ministries

In a notification released on 17th September 2022, the Staff Selection Commission changed the exam pattern for the Tier-2 exam. The change is major and the most unique of its kind with respect to the SSC CGL 2022 exam pattern. The commission also revoked the SSC CGL Tier-3 exam. Now this means that there will be no descriptive writing paper. Along with these changes, the computer typing test has also been mandatory for all the SSC CGL posts. What is SSC CGL 2023 exam?

The Staff Selection Commission, which is a central government recruiting agency, conducts various exams at national level, and out of those exams SSC CGL is the most premier exam. SSC Combined Graduate level or SSC CGL is a graduate level all India Exam, which inducts Inspectors, Sub Inspectors, Tax assistants, audit officers and other such high profile personnels in the central government. SSC CGL exam is considered to be one of the most competitive exams of India because of the number of yearly applicants. Earlier, SSC CGL exam was transitionally divided into 3 parts. Tier1, Tier 2 & Tier 3. But as per the latest notfication, the commission has changed the CGL exam pattern. SSC CGL Notification 2023

The official SSC CGL 2023 notification is released by the Commission on 03rd April 2023. Candidates can apply for the SSC CGL Exam 2023 between 03rd April to 03rd May 2023. The official SSC CGL 2023 notification contains important information such as application process, vacancies, eligibility, important dates, syllabus, exam pattern and other rules and regulations related to the exam. SSC CGL 2023 notification will remain valid till the completion of the SSC CGL Exam 2023 or even after the exam in the case of any legal action comes up regarding the SSC CGL 2023 exam.  The candidates will be able to download the SSC CGL notification 2023 from the “Latest News” section on the official website of SSC

SSC CGL Application Form 2023

Releasing the formal notification, the Commission has made the SSC CGL application link available online.  The candidates need an SSC registration number to apply online for the SSC CGL exam. The candidates can apply for the SSC CGL between 03rd April to 03rd May 2023. The entire SSC CGL Application process has been divided in three parts

  • Part 1- SSC CGL Registration 2023 which includes uploading the personal information like name, age, address, educational qualifications, etc.  
  • Part 2- SSC CGL Application which includes uploading the relevant documents along with Photograph and thumb impression
  • Part 3- SSC CGL Application Fee Payment which is the process of making the required fee payment to finally submit the SSC CGL Application form 2023

SSC CGL 2023 Eligibility Criteria

When preparing for SSC CGL, candidates must know the eligibility criteria in advance. The Eligibility Criteria to Apply for SSC CGL 2022 exam is provided below

The Commission sets certain eligibility criteria based on which the candidates can appear for the SSC CGL 2023 exam. The components of the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria areas follows

  • Nationality
  • Age Limit
  • Qualification

Nationality

  • A candidate must be either Indian Citizen or a citizen of Nepal/Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee [who moved with an intention to permanently settle in India before 1962]
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania [Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar], Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention to permanently settle in India

Age Limit Criteria

  • Applicants’ age mentioned in the 10th/12th certificates will be considered

  • The Staff Selection Commission [SSC] has revised the age limit for the post of Tax Assistant [under CBEC Group C]. Earlier the age limit was 20 to 27 years, however, now the age limit for this post has been revised to 18 to 27 years

The lower and upper limit of age varies post-wise. The SSC CGL age limit for each post are mentioned separately by the Commission on the official website. Refer to the table below containing the SSC CGL age limit that can be categorised under the following ways.

 Educational Qualification

  • Candidate should possess a bachelor's degree from any recognised university
  • The detailed post wise eligibility criteria has been given on the Eligibility widget
  • If one is appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam, he/she can also apply for the exam. In this case they have to provide their document of the qualifying exam at the time of document verification
  • There is no minimum percentage required to appear for the exam.  
  • Candidates appearing in their final year of Graduation can also apply for the exam provided that they have to obtain the essential qualification before the last date to apply for the exam

SSC CGL Admit Card 2023

SSC CGL Tier 2 Admit Card 2023 was released on 26th February 2023 by all the regional websites.  SSC CGL Tier 2 exam began on 02nd March 2023 and concluded on 07th March 2023 at the designated exam centres. Earlier, the Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL Tier 2 Shift timing on 24th February 2023. SSC CGL 2023 Tier 2 exam are conducted in two shifts. The SSC released three admit cards, separately for each paper. SSC selected over 3 lakhs and 50 thousand candidates for the SSC CGL tier 2 exam. SSC CGL Tier 1 Admit Card 2022 was released on 21st November 2022. Candidates have to provide their registration number, date of birth, and password in order to download the SSC CGL Admit Card.  The SSC CGL Admit card 2023 is a significant document since without it and a valid form of identification, candidates will not be permitted to access the SSC CGL Exam grounds. You must verify your exam city, exam timings, and the precise location of the exam centre after downloading your admit card

SSC CGL 2023 Preparation Tips

SSC CGL Preparation Strategy for Tier 1, 2, 3. The candidates must go through the important points to prepare well for the examination. Read on how to prepare and score high marks

  1. The first and foremost step is know the complete syllabus of SSC CGL Tier 1, 2 exam. Sticking to the syllabus will help the candidates to avoid the time lapse on trivial topics
  2. The study resources should be limited. This means candidates should focus and try to cover the syllabus from stipulated source rather than longing for more and more books. This will also help them to avoid wasting any time and learning effectively
  3. Attempt the mock tests regularly. As SSC CGL Tier 2 is a lengthy paper so the candidates are advised to attempt atleast one complete mock test regularly
  4. It has been noticed that the SSC repeats certain pattern every year in Tier 2 exam. So this makes it important for the candidates to practice the previous year question papers
  5. SSC CGL Tier 3 is a descriptive paper. So it is advised that the students should start writing an essay and a letter twice in a week
  6. It is seen that the governmental job aspirants practice maths, reasoning and other such subjects and avoid writing stuff. But Tier 3 is a test of writing skills. Therefore, candidates need to get into that zone to acheive succes in the exam

The Staff Selection Commission has released SSC CGL Tier 2 answer key 2023 on 14th March 2023 on its official website.  Candidates will be able to raise objections till 17th March 2023. Candidates appeared for the SSC CGL 2023 exam can access the SSC CGL 2023 answer key to check their estimated score and cut off marks of SSC CGL exam. SSC CGL Result 2022-23

The SSC CGL result 2023 for Tier 2 is expected to be released online in April 2023. The Commission will release the result within 45 days of the exam.  The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL 2022 result for tier 1 on 09th February 2023.  SSC CGL 2022 result has been declared by the commission.  SSC CGL 2022 Tier 1 Exam was conducted from 01st December to 13th December 2022. Further, SSC CGL Tier 2 is scheduled to take place in from 02nd March 2023.

SSC CGL Cut off 2023

The SSC CGL 2023 cutoff will be announced along with the result declaration.  Over 3 lakhs candidates have been qualified to sit for the SSC CGL tier 2 exam 2023. The SSC CGL Tier 1 was announced in the result notice PDF along with the SSC CGL Tier 1 result 2022. SSC CGL Skill Test 2023

This skill Test will comprise of three modules, namely, Data entry Speed Test [DEST], Power Point Presentation/Generation of Slides [MS Power Point], and Spread Sheet [MS Excel].  

  • For Data Entry Speed Test [DEST], a master text passage of about 2000 [two thousand] key depressions will be given. The duration of this test will be 15 minutes
  • Candidates can only type the equivalent number of words given in the master text passage
  • A combination of alphanumeric keys followed by space is termed as one "Word",
  • After typing a given number of words in the master text passage the space bar will not allow further typing of additional words. For example, if there are 500 words in the master text passage, candidates can type only 500 words and after that space bar will not allow the candidates to type any additional word, however, the keyboard will allow the candidate to continue typing without using the space bar
  • In case Candidates type additional words/wrong words, thereby exhausting the allowed number of words before completing the master text, then they may use arrow keys/backspace key to correct wrongly typed word[s] or remove additional typed word[s] before proceeding to complete the master text
  • Candidates may note
  • The printout of the typed text will not be taken after the Skill Test [Typing Test/DEST]
  • Candidates for the English Typing Test/DEST are advised to choose English [United States] as their option
  • A demo video for the said Typing Test/DEST has been uploaded on the website of the Commission in the CANDIDATES CORNER for the benefit of the candidates
  • Computer Proficiency Test [CPT] comprises of additional two modules viz

    [i] Power Point Presentation/Generation of slides [MS Power Point]

    [ii] Spread Sheet [MS Excel] will be administered on the MS Office platform [Microsoft Office-2007 and higher versions] and the duration of each module will be 15 minutes

  • These modules will be conducted one after the other

  • After completion of both the modules, a printout of the candidate's work will be taken

  • The candidates will have to give the print command and after getting printouts for Power Point presentation and Spread Sheet, they will also write their Roll Number, Name, Exam Date, and Put their signature on each page

  • Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with Microsoft Office -2007 and above

SSC CGL 2022 Selection Process

Candidates must go through the selection process if they have or plan to appear for SSC CGL Exam. They will be better prepared for the exam if they are aware of the selection procedure. Distribution of Allowances.  House Rent Allowance [HRA]. The rate of HRA, which varies depending on the government-proposed classification of cities, has been finalised by the 7th Pay Commission. Cities in group X, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Pune, would receive 24% of HRA in addition to their base salaries. Group Y, which consists of 100 towns with a population of 5 lakh, would receive 16% of the HRA, while group Z's rural areas will receive 8% of the HRA

Traveling Allowance. The selected applicants for group X cities will receive transport allowances of Rs 3600, while the other two will receive travel reimbursements of Rs 1800 to cover their travel expenses to the cities

Medical Allowance. After an employee requests it, the government will pay back all medical expenses incurred for them or members of their family during treatment

Special Security Allowance. Should the candidate work for some special organisation, such as the CBI, IB, or any security agencies, they would receive an additional 20% of their basic salary as Special Security Allowance [SSA] in their gross pay

Pension. This is the most alluring perk of any government employment because, even after retirement and into your golden years, you will receive a magnificent monthly sum to cover your needs, with a portion of this amount withdrawn from your pay each month
