Amazing Price Pros: - Great quality of hardware used to refurbish- Appeared brand new - both laptops I purchased, both share the same review so please count this as two reviews?- Battery is not used: it actually holds a decent 1.5 hours charge at the least- Windows Seven rated everything, including the Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHZ processor(!) a 5.4. The graphics was above standard and an upgraded integrated GPU. It allows for 900MB of total video memory including 128MB dedicated. This was rated at 3.9 for the GPU, but the amount of available memory rated at 4.9.- Sturdy and the laptop handles like it is brand new- Performance is surperb in Windows XP and even more in Windows Seven- DVDRW Burner- WiFi G- Only $400 including the 2 year warranty? What a steal! - Comparable to spending about $1,000 or more on Dell's Website without the extended warranty. Cons: - WiFi was not listed, but is included- The software reinstall disc does not include the drivers, and anything installed when you get it is lost when you restore using the disc. Kind of expected, but would have been nice to have the drivers included in another disc. Not really worth losing an egg, but because of the WiFi listing issue I counted both for half.- It seems that the drivers are not automatically found for the graphics chipset, when I installed Windows Seven it was unable to even reconize the adaptor. However, once I loaded the correct driver (Again, this was an email response within hours letting me know the correct driver) it installed without a hitch and the performance is above-amazing. Windows Seven gives it 5.5 for CPU and memory as well; HDD scored 5.2; graphics is 3.9 . Still, it is performing very well on Windows Seven. I just had already planned on installing Windows Seven, but the laptop comes with XP- Speakers are average but decent - Only 1280 x 800 Overall Review: I have only the regret that I did not purchase more. I will likely be purchasing a few more, just because of the price and they are great laptops. I can speak for the quality of the Dell D600 series - one has lasted already 5 years, with the only thing really wrong with it is the battery. Everything else was still perfect. So this was a worthy purchase, it costs almost the same for a new battery and adaptor, so this is what I recommend before putting money into any new laptop. If you want a great peforming multitasking, music, email, browsing, productivity, most average gaming, streaming Netflix, Pandora, desktop replacement... If this is what you are looking for, look no further. As always, shopping with NewEgg for over two years now, I am very pleased with my purchase and the support. Shipping was reliable as always.
