As someone who fosters a healthy obsession for makeup, I don't say this lightly. So what makes this particular product so spectacular? So many reasons, but I am going to limit this review to my 3 favorite ones. 1. This is the most recent obvious one, but the price point is clearly fantastic. Mascara is perhaps the most important product in my daily beauty routine, and over the years I have spent money on expensive brands like Dior and Benefit. But at upwards of $20 a bottle, I never felt like these products were paying off. This Maybelline formula is drugstore priced, but high-end quality. This means that you can afford to get a new bottle every month or two to keep your mascara look fresh without breaking the bank. The fact that this product is $6 is absolutely ridiculous- I wish I had been buying it years ago!! 2. I love the application wand. It is curved at the end, which gives your lashes a lot of curve, ideal for people who like to skip the eyelash curler in the morning. The shape also makes it perfect for really getting into those small spaces and curves of your lash line that are sometimes missed with a straight wand. 3. The formula is, in a word... DREAMY. It is black- the kind of true black that creates such drama and intensity in the lashes. It goes on easily- a few swipes of the wand and your lashes, like the name claims, WILL look almost like falsies. It costs the lashes without feeling thick or heavy, and it is shockingly hard to create clumps (with the amount of volume you get with this product, you would expect MUCH more clumping). I like to use the curved end of the wand to tease out the ends of my lashes to create a beautiful fringe look. The length is like nothing I have ever experienced with other mascara brands- when I use this, my eyelashes LITERALLY brush my browbone... It's amazing. These are just a few reasons to buy this product, but from one makeup aficionado to the next, GET THIS MASCARA. Every SINGLE time I wear it, I get endless compliment on my eyelashes, and at least one person asks me what mascara I use. Every day. That is just the kind of product this is. So, do yourself a favor and buy this, you won't regret it :) *in the picture, I am wearing no makeup other than this mascara. This does the job! I put on 2 coats and I'd say it thickens/volumizes more than it lengthens, but it looks nice. Not clumpy. It does leave some black flakes under my eyes by the end of the day. The Almay mascara made my eyes burn but this does not! This mascara does that as well or better than others I've tried, and the ones it only does "as well as," cost a whole lot more. I also love that it comes in navy blue, which is sometimes hard to find, but looks great, imho, with brown eyes. It not only looks good on, but it stays that way-- it hasn't smudged, budged or dripped/come off with normal moisture, though I have to offer the caveat that I don't live in a place like, say, FLA, where there is a lot of humidity...and I don't recall having cried, either, while wearing the mascara, so in that regard, I haven't put it through the ringer to the max. It's come off easily with soap and water each night, no problems. It arrived superfast, intact, and-- another bonus-- the seller is really great. I haven't had to test the seller, because I've had zero problems, and therefore haven't had to ask for a replacement or refund, but based on normal follow-up correspondence, I gotta say, I'm impressed.
