Since my last post, Appreciating Serendipitous Samples, I have used most of the samples I have.  Frankly speaking, besides the free samples, I also purchased a few others from online shops.  There really are lots of brands out there catering to my specific needs.

Unfortunately, I have only 1 face – so after about 1 month, I only managed to try out 3 brands of skincare.

 L’Oreal’s White Perfect Night Cream

I read that L’Oreal’s White Perfect Night Cream contains Melanin Vanish, a breakthrough ingredient which helps to inhibit melanin production at the source, and together with Pink Tourmaline Gemstones it aims to give us fairer looking skin with a rosy glow upon waking up.

Constant usage is supposed to reduce spots, making skin fairer and more radiant.

Now isn’t that what most women want out of their skincare?

L’Oreal’s White Perfect Night Cream has a nice texture, not too thick or greasy, with a light pleasant fragrance.  However, a word of caution to those with oily skin type – your face may feel like it’s slathered with oil when you sweat.

I really like the jar because it means I get to thoroughly finish the cream, unlike pump bottles where there are always some cream wasted in the bottle, the pipes and the pump.

As long as we keep our fingers clean before we dip into the jar, and we finish it within 3-6 months, I believe the cream should be safe to use.

My aim is to reduce, lighten and ultimately rid my skin off the dark spots that are sprinkled on some parts of my face and also to reduce the pores. 

Although it’s a night cream, I decided to also use it occasionally during the day (when I know I wasn’t going to sweat much) because I was hoping for a faster result.  I find it perfect for days when I’m stuck in a dry, air-conditioned environment.

And it’s definitely perfect during cool nights.

The 20 ml jar is a very generous sample (got it for free with my copy of Cleo magazine) and after 7days of applying it day and night, I notice my pores getting less noticeable and my skin smoother, but my skin tone was still uneven and not visibly brighter.

Maybe it needs more time, at least until I’ve finished the whole batch.

Or, maybe I should also use sunscreen during the day, you know how hot and sunny the weather gets these days and that makes the spots darker.

My verdict is – more than 7 days is required to achieve a brighter and rosier complexion. 

But it acts fast to smoothen the skin and reduce pores.  Not bad at all.
