Both are full format screw driven analogue lenses. The AF 28-105mm F3.5-4.5 Xi has a better zoom range so i would chose it even though it is older (af may be slower though). If you can test both on your camera it may help you choose but i couldn't image there is a large image quality difference in the 2 of them I have the latter version of the AF 28-105mm it was 24-105mm and was the perfect lens for the Dynax 7 back in the day :) 113 months ago(permalink) puggsincyberspace says:I also have the 24-105, doesn't get used much since I have the 24-70CZ, but the 24-05 has a smaller filter ring which I can use my Colkin P filters on... And the price was right…I think I paid $80 for it. I miss it. I do prefer the wider angle and the longer reach of the 16-105, but then, it did cost a fair chunk more. I gave my A33 to my daughter (her first SLT) and immediately got on Ebay and bought another one to go with it. I have quite a few photos on my photo stream that I took with the 28-85- all the flood photos and flood volunteer photos were taken with it. dyxum.com has some great info and user reviews of both the 28-85 and the 28-105.
