Which osi layer is responsible for directing data from one lan to another?

The number of American households that were unbanked last year dropped to its lowest level since 2009, a dip due in part to people opening accounts to receive financial assistance during the pandemic, a new report says.

Roughly 4.5% of U.S. households – or 5.9 million – didn't have a checking or savings account with a bank or credit union in 2021, a record low, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's most recent survey of unbanked and underbanked households.

Roughly 45% of households that received a stimulus payment, jobless benefits or other government assistance after the start of the pandemic in March, 2020 said those funds helped compel them to open an account, according to the biennial report which has been conducted since 2009.

"Safe and affordable bank accounts provide a way to bring more Americans into the banking system and will continue to play an important role in advancing economic inclusion for all Americans,'' FDIC acting chairman Martin J. Gruenberg said in a statement.

A lack of banking options delayed some households from getting federal payments aimed at helping the country weather the economic fallout from the COVID-19 health crisis.

Checks arrived late for some of the unbanked:For 'unbanked' Americans, pandemic stimulus checks arrived slowly and with higher fees. But that could change.

The FDIC initiated an educational campaign to get more Americans to open an account to enable the direct deposit of those funds. And banks such as Capital One and Ally Financial ended  overdraft and other fees that have been a key barrier to some Americans accessing the banking system.

What does it mean to be unbanked?

A household is deemed unbanked when no one in the home has an account with a bank or credit union. That share of households has dropped by nearly half since 2009. And since 2011, when 8% of U.S. households were unbanked, the highest since the start of the survey, and the record low reached in 2021, roughly half of the drop was due to a shift in the financial circumstances of American households the FDIC says.

delivery path for the packets, and passes this data to the Data Link layer (layer 2).

6. The Data Link layer places layer 2 header and trailer information, such as a Frame Check Sequence (FCS) to ensure that the information is not corrupt, and passes this new data to the Physical layer (layer 1) for transmission across the media.

7. The bit stream is then transmitted as ones and zeros on the Physical layer. It is at this point that the Physical layer ensures bit synchronization. Bit synchronization will ensure the end user data is assembled in the correct order it was sent.

8. Steps 1 through 7 occur in reverse order on the destination device. Device B collects the raw bits from the physical wire and passes them up the

Data Link layer. The Data Link layer removes the headers and trailers and passes the remaining information to the Network layer and so forth until data is received by the Application layer. Eventually, Device B will receive an email notification displaying a message to indicate that a new email message has been received.

Familiarize yourself with the OSI model and each layer's responsibility. You should be able to recognize a function of each layer of the OSI model. The seven layers of the OSI reference model are typically divided into two categories: upper layers (layers 4 through 7) and lower layers (layers 1 through 3).

As you can determine from the example of encapsulation, the OSI model provides a service that allows information to flow smoothly from one layer to another. Eventually, the information will be presented to the end device in a readable format. Now that we've reviewed the OSI model, the next section takes a look at how packets are sent across a network using a routing algorithm.

At which OSI layer does Internet Protocol operate?

TCP/IP Protocol Architecture Model.

Which layer of the OSI model uses routing protocols to build routing tables and uses Internet Protocol IP as the routed protocol?

A protocol that defines routing and addressing is considered to be a network layer, or Layer 3, protocol.

Which OSI layer determines the route a packet takes from sender to receiver?

A new sublayer, media access control (MAC), was defined. The MAC layer routes packets from a sender to a receiver along a common path.

Which routing protocol does an edge router use to collect data to build its routing tables for paths across the internet?

In this situation, enterprise customer edge routers connect to ISP edge routers using the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), a dynamic routing protocol that controls routes on the internet.
